As a department head for <strong>sample preparation and instrumental analytics<\/strong>, he handled testing of <strong>consumer goods, food contact materials<\/strong>, and <strong>medical devices<\/strong>. In recent years, his work has increasingly focused on <strong>medical device safety<\/strong>, particularly in advancing <strong>biocompatibility testing<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>At Hohenstein Laboratories\u2014an <strong>ISO 17025-accredited<\/strong> and <strong>GLP-certified<\/strong> testing facility\u2014he continues to develop chemical, physical, and biological testing methods focusing on <strong>general safety and performance requirements according to <\/strong>the <strong>Medical Device Regulation (MDR 2017\/745)<\/strong> with an emphasis on biocompatibility testing according to ISO 10993 and ISO 18562.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What matters most to him as a speaker:<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>&#8220;Every biocompatibility assessment starts with <strong>chemical characterization<\/strong> (ISO 10993-18), and I\u2019m aware that chemistry isn\u2019t everyone\u2019s favorite subject. As a chemist, I aim to eliminate the fear and uncertainty around chemical analysis, explaining it in accessible terms.
